As argued by Cycling Fallacies, the ‘Dutch and Danes don’t cycle because it is their manifest destiny to do so, but because they live in places where cycling is designed for, making it a convenient, safe, and obvious way to get around’. That too is possible here.
This is not about copying other cities for the sake of it, but finding solutions to our real problems and our predilections. Experience has shown that Londoners love to walk, with improvements for example to the South Bank, Hungerford Bridge and Millennium Footbridge leading to an explosion in walking in that area.
